This is the teaching web site for a furniture making foundation class given by Scottish master craftsman Dougal Charteris in Fair Oaks California.
The course duration is 40-50 hrs, in 2 - 4 student class.
The course is spread over one month and can be done in a variety of schedules ie. as three weekends or as evening classes with three hours on Tuesday,Wednesday& Thursday evenings for four weeks with a weekend day to finnish, I'm flexible.
The object produced by each student is an 18th century style ladder-back chair identical to the one in the slide show above.
Cost per student is $1000 , materials included but not upholstery.
At the end of the course the student will own a very nice high end chair and the knowledge to make as many of them as you want. Priceless!
